About MeXSI Inc.

SALVADOR BEHAR attended the University of Southern California from 1972 to 1975, where he was awarded the USC Architectural Guild Traveling Fellowship as the outstanding graduate. He received his Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University in 1978, and completed one year of post graduate work in economics at UC Berkeley.

Since 1991 he has led his own architecture and engineering firm. Behar is a registered architect in the states of New York, California, Connecticut, and Florida. MeXSI Inc was formed in 2000 to provide energy and economic consulting services and product development. Prior to founding Salvador Behar Architects, Behar was Project Director at Swanke Hayden Connell Architects, where he was personally responsible for over $250,000,000 in construction. He functioned as project director for the design and construction of the headquarters of Brooklyn Union Gas in downtown Brooklyn, a 800,000 square-foot office building with subterranean parking. Behar apprenticed under architects Philip Johnson in New York and Frank Tomsick in San Francisco.

Since 2002 MeXSI Inc has been continuously certified by NYSERDA as a Lighting Design Partner. Behar is certified by Building Performance Institute as a Hydronic Heating System Designer.

Behar is married with a dog and two kids, and enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and alpine skiing. He is a fan of Arsenal, Ducks, and SC Trojans. Fight on.
